Cytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolatemonooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in anNADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a varietyof structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fattyacids, and xenobiotics. PA2 catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2-acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides, this releasesglycerophospholipids and arachidonic acid that serve as theprecursors of signal molecules. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19297324}.
