Acts as a backup for CMTM6 to regulate plasma membraneexpression of PD-L1/CD274, an immune inhibitory ligand criticalfor immune tolerance to self and antitumor immunity. May protectPD-L1/CD274 from being polyubiquitinated and targeted fordegradation. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:28813410}. Sulfotransferase that utilizes 3'-phospho-5'-adenylylsulfate (PAPS) as sulfonate donor to catalyze the sulfateconjugation of estradiol and estrone. May play a role in theregulation of estrogen receptor activity by metabolizing freeestradiol. Maximally sulfates beta-estradiol and estrone atconcentrations of 20 nM. Also sulfates dehydroepiandrosterone,pregnenolone, ethinylestradiol, equalenin, diethylstilbesterol and1-naphthol, at significantly higher concentrations; however,cortisol, testosterone and dopamine are not sulfated.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:11884392}.
