Has both beta-1,3-glucuronic acid and beta-1,4-N-acetylgalactosamine transferase activity. Transfers glucuronicacid (GlcUA) from UDP-GlcUA and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc)from UDP-GalNAc to the non-reducing end of the elongatingchondroitin polymer. Specific activity is much reduced compared toCHSY1. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12907687}. Involved in the first step of pre-mRNA splicing. Bindsdirectly to the internal stem-loop (ISL) domain of the U6 snRNAand to the pre-mRNA intron near the 5' splice site during theactivation and catalytic phases of the spliceosome cycle.
