PTPRF

P10586

Component of the histone deacetylase NuRD complex whichparticipates in the remodeling of chromatin by deacetylatinghistones. Required for anchoring centrosomal pericentrin in bothinterphase and mitosis, for spindle organization and centrosomeintegrity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17626165,ECO:0000269|PubMed:9804427}. Possible cell adhesion receptor. It possesses anintrinsic protein tyrosine phosphatase activity (PTPase) anddephosphorylates EPHA2 regulating its activity. The first PTPase domain has enzymatic activity, whilethe second one seems to affect the substrate specificity of thefirst one.
