This is a component of the ubiquinol-cytochrome creductase complex (complex III or cytochrome b-c1 complex), whichis part of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. This protein maymediate formation of the complex between cytochromes c and c1. Downstream effector molecule involved in thetransmission of signals from tyrosine kinase receptors and smallGTPases to the actin cytoskeleton. Promotes formation of actinfilaments. Part of the WAVE complex that regulates lamellipodiaformation. The WAVE complex regulates actin filamentreorganization via its interaction with the Arp2/3 complex (Bysimilarity). As component of the WAVE1 complex, required for BDNF-NTRK2 endocytic trafficking and signaling from early endosomes (Bysimilarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8R5H6,ECO:0000269|PubMed:9889097}.
