CXCL16

Q9H2A7

Accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes itscovalent attachment to other proteins. In vitro catalyzes 'Lys-48'-, as well as 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitination. May beinvolved in degradation of muscle-specific proteins. Mediatespolyubiquitination of CYP3A4. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19103148,ECO:0000269|PubMed:20061386}. Acts as a scavenger receptor on macrophages, whichspecifically binds to OxLDL (oxidized low density lipoprotein),suggesting that it may be involved in pathophysiology such asatherogenesis (By similarity). Induces a strong chemotacticresponse. Induces calcium mobilization. Binds to CXCR6/Bonzo.{ECO:0000250}.
