Plays a role in RNA-mediated gene silencing by bothmicro-RNAs (miRNAs) and short interfering RNAs (siRNAs). Requiredfor miRNA-dependent translational repression and siRNA-dependentendonucleolytic cleavage of complementary mRNAs by argonautefamily proteins.
