Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate-dependentguanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) which, independently ofRAS, transduces signals from tyrosine kinase receptors to RAC. Italso mediates signaling of membrane ruffling. Regulates the actincytoskeleton as an effector or adapter protein in response toagonist stimulated phosphatidylinositol (3,4)-bisphosphateproduction and cell protrusion (By similarity). {ECO:0000250,ECO:0000269|PubMed:10681448, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12925760}. Acts as a negative regulator of entry into mitosis (G2to M transition) by protecting the nucleus from cytoplasmicallyactivated cyclin B1-complexed CDK1 before the onset of mitosis bymediating phosphorylation of CDK1 on 'Tyr-15'. Specificallyphosphorylates and inactivates cyclin B1-complexed CDK1 reaching amaximum during G2 phase and a minimum as cells enter M phase.Phosphorylation of cyclin B1-CDK1 occurs exclusively on 'Tyr-15'and phosphorylation of monomeric CDK1 does not occur. Its activityincreases during S and G2 phases and decreases at M phase when itis hyperphosphorylated. A correlated decrease in protein leveloccurs at M/G1 phase, probably due to its degradation.
