Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141). Acts as a chemoattractant, probably involved inthe regulation of cell migration (PubMed:28301481).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10224141, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28301481}. Acts as a glycogen-targeting subunit for phosphatasePP1. Facilitates interaction of the PP1 with enzymes of theglycogen metabolism and regulates its activity. Suppresses therate at which PP1 dephosphorylates (inactivates) glycogenphosphorylase and enhances the rate at which it activates glycogensynthase and therefore limits glycogen breakdown. Its activity isinhibited by PYGL, resulting in inhibition of the glycogensynthase and glycogen phosphorylase phosphatase activities of PP1.Dramatically increases basal and insulin-stimulated glycogensynthesis upon overexpression in hepatocytes (By similarity).{ECO:0000250}.
