CTU2

Q2VPK5

Catalyzes the oxidation of sulfhydryl groups in peptideand protein thiols to disulfides with the reduction of oxygen tohydrogen peroxide. May contribute to disulfide bond formation in avariety of secreted proteins. Also seems to play a role inregulating the sensitization of neuroblastoma cells forinterferon-gamma-induced apoptosis. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:14633699}. Plays a central role in 2-thiolation of mcm(5)S(2)U attRNA wobble positions of tRNA(Lys), tRNA(Glu) and tRNA(Gln). Mayact by forming a heterodimer with CTU1/ATPBD3 that ligates sulfurfrom thiocarboxylated URM1 onto the uridine of tRNAs at wobbleposition. {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03054,ECO:0000269|PubMed:19017811}.
