DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcriptionof DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates assubstrates. Component of RNA polymerase II which synthesizes mRNAprecursors and many functional non-coding RNAs. Pol II is thecentral component of the basal RNA polymerase II transcriptionmachinery. It is composed of mobile elements that move relative toeach other.
