Receptor for secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2). Acts asa receptor for phosholipase sPLA2-IB/PLA2G1B but not sPLA2-IIA/PLA2G2A. Also able to bind to snake PA2-like toxins. Althoughits precise function remains unclear, binding of sPLA2 to itsreceptor participates in both positive and negative regulation ofsPLA2 functions as well as clearance of sPLA2. Binding of sPLA2-IB/PLA2G1B induces various effects depending on the cell type,such as activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)cascade to induce cell proliferation, the production of lipidmediators, selective release of arachidonic acid in bone marrow-derived mast cells. In neutrophils, binding of sPLA2-IB/PLA2G1Bcan activate p38 MAPK to stimulate elastase release and celladhesion. May be involved in responses in proinflammatory cytokineproductions during endotoxic shock. Also has endocytic propertiesand rapidly internalizes sPLA2 ligands, which is particularlyimportant for the clearance of extracellular sPLA2s to protecttheir potent enzymatic activities. The soluble secretoryphospholipase A2 receptor form is circulating and acts as anegative regulator of sPLA2 functions by blocking the biologicalfunctions of sPLA2-IB/PLA2G1B. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15611272,ECO:0000269|PubMed:7721806}. Integrin alpha-V/beta-6 is a receptor for fibronectinand cytotactin. It recognizes the sequence R-G-D in its ligands.Internalisation of integrin alpha-V/beta-6 via clathrin-mediatedendocytosis promotes carcinoma cell invasion. ITGAV:ITGB6 acts asa receptor for fibrillin-1 (FBN1) and mediates R-G-D-dependentcell adhesion to FBN1 (PubMed:17158881).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:17158881, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17545607}.
