Functions as a component of the nuclear pore complex(NPC). NPC components, collectively referred to as nucleoporins(NUPs), can play the role of both NPC structural components and ofdocking or interaction partners for transiently associated nucleartransport factors. May play a role in the association of MAD1 withthe NPC. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15703211}. Part of the WAVE complex that regulates lamellipodiaformation. The WAVE complex regulates actin filamentreorganization via its interaction with the Arp2/3 complex. Actinremodeling activity is regulated by RAC1. As component of theWAVE1 complex, required for BDNF-NTRK2 endocytic trafficking andsignaling from early endosomes. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P28660}.
