Transcriptional corepressor. Mediates thetranscriptional repression activity of some nuclear receptors bypromoting chromatin condensation, thus preventing access of thebasal transcription. Isoform 1 and isoform 5 have differentaffinities for different nuclear receptors. Involved in theregulation BCL6-dependent of the germinal center (GC) reactions, mainly through the control of the GC B-cells proliferation andsurvival. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18212045,ECO:0000269|PubMed:23911289}. Substrate recognition component of a SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediatesthe ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation oftarget proteins. Probably recognizes and binds to phosphorylatedtarget proteins. Recognizes YBX1 (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
