Nuclear receptor coregulator that can have bothcoactivator and corepressor functions. Interacts with nuclearreceptors for steroids (ESR1 and ESR2) independently of thesteroid binding domain (AF-2) of the ESR receptors, and with theorphan nuclear receptor NR1D2. Involved in the coactivation ofnuclear steroid receptors (ER) as well as the corepression of MYCin response to 17-beta-estradiol (E2).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:15073177}. Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins.They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilicmanner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to thesorting of heterogeneous cell types. May play an important role inretinal development.
