May control cell migration by relaying extracellularchemotactic signals to the microtubule cytoskeleton. Mediator ofERBB2 signaling. The MEMO1-RHOA-DIAPH1 signaling pathway plays animportant role in ERBB2-dependent stabilization of microtubules atthe cell cortex. It controls the localization of APC and CLASP2 tothe cell membrane, via the regulation of GSK3B activity. In turn,membrane-bound APC allows the localization of the MACF1 to thecell membrane, which is required for microtubule capture andstabilization. Is required for breast carcinoma cell migration.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:15156151, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20937854}. Serine-type endopeptidase involved in atrial natriureticpeptide hormone (NPPA) processing. Converts through proteolyticcleavage the non-functional propeptide NPPA into the activehormone, thereby regulating blood pressure in heart and promotingnatriuresis, diuresis and vasodilation. Proteolytic cleavage ofpro-NPPA also plays a role in female pregnancy by promotingtrophoblast invasion and spiral artery remodeling in uterus. Alsoacts as a regulator of sodium reabsorption in kidney. May alsoprocess pro-NPPB the B-type natriuretic peptide. Isoform 2: has weaker endopeptidase activity compared toisoform 1.
