Removes the secondary (acyloxyacyl-linked) fatty acylchains from the lipid A region of bacterial lipopolysaccharides(PubMed:1883828, PubMed:8089145, PubMed:29343645). By breakingdown LPS, terminates the host response to bacterial infection andprevents prolonged and damaging inflammatory responses (Bysimilarity). In peritoneal macrophages, seems to be important forrecovery from a state of immune tolerance following infection byGram-negative bacteria (By similarity).{ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:O35298, ECO:0000269|PubMed:1883828,ECO:0000269|PubMed:29343645, ECO:0000269|PubMed:8089145}. Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141). Acts as a chemoattractant, probably involved inthe regulation of cell migration (PubMed:28301481).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10224141, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28301481}.
