MIR548H3

Multifunctional protein working as a cell cycleprogression factor as well as a cell survival factor. Required forthe progression from the G1 to the S phase. Anti-apoptotic proteinwhich functions as a caspase-3 inhibitor. Has no phosphatase 2A(PP2A) inhibitor activity (By similarity). Exhibits histonechaperone properties, stimulating core histones to assemble into anucleosome. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20538007}. Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141). Acts as a chemoattractant, probably involved inthe regulation of cell migration (PubMed:28301481).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10224141, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28301481}.
