May be an organic anion pump relevant to cellulardetoxification. | Type IV collagen is the major structural component ofglomerular basement membranes (GBM), forming a 'chicken-wire'meshwork together with laminins, proteoglycans andentactin/nidogen. Canstatin, a cleavage product corresponding to thecollagen alpha 2(IV) NC1 domain, possesses both anti-angiogenicand anti-tumor cell activity.
