Nucleoside monophosphate (NMP) kinase that catalyzes thereversible transfer of the terminal phosphate group betweennucleoside triphosphates and monophosphates. Active on AMP anddAMP with ATP as a donor. When GTP is used as phosphate donor, theenzyme phosphorylates AMP, CMP, and to a small extent dCMP. Deubiquitinating enzyme involved in various processessuch as centrosome duplication, cellular migration and beta-2adrenergic receptor/ADRB2 recycling. Involved in regulation ofcentrosome duplication by mediating deubiquitination of CCP110 inS and G2/M phase, leading to stabilize CCP110 during the periodwhich centrioles duplicate and elongate. Involved in cellmigration via its interaction with intracellular domain of ROBO1,leading to regulate the Slit signaling. Plays a role incommissural axon guidance cross the ventral midline of the neuraltube in a Slit-dependent manner, possibly by mediating thedeubiquitination of ROBO1. Acts as a regulator of G-proteincoupled receptor (GPCR) signaling by mediating thedeubiquitination of beta-arrestins (ARRB1 and ARRB2) and beta-2adrenergic receptor (ADRB2). Plays a central role in ADRB2recycling and resensitization after prolonged agonist stimulationby constitutively binding ADRB2, mediating deubiquitination ofADRB2 and inhibiting lysosomal trafficking of ADRB2. Upondissociation, it is probably transferred to the translocated beta-arrestins, leading to beta-arrestins deubiquitination anddisengagement from ADRB2. This suggests the existence of a dynamicexchange between the ADRB2 and beta-arrestins. DeubiquitinatesDIO2, thereby regulating thyroid hormone regulation.
