Involved in cell growth regulation. May be involved inthe regulation of mitogenic signals and control of cellproliferation. Involved in the internalization of ligand-induciblereceptors of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) type, inparticular EGFR. Plays a role in the assembly of clathrin-coatedpits (CCPs). Acts as a clathrin adapter required for post-Golgitrafficking. Seems to be involved in CCPs maturation includinginvagination or budding.
