Involved in cytoskeletal rearrangements required forphagocytosis of apoptotic cells and cell motility. Along withDOCK1, mediates CRK/CRKL regulation of epithelial and endothelialcell spreading and migration on type IV collagen(PubMed:19004829). Functions as a guanine nucleotide exchangefactor (GEF), which activates Rac Rho small GTPases by exchangingbound GDP for free GTP. Its GEF activity may be enhanced by ELMO1(PubMed:8657152). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19004829,ECO:0000269|PubMed:8657152}. Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141). Acts as a chemoattractant, probably involved inthe regulation of cell migration (PubMed:28301481).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10224141, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28301481}.
