May contribute to the transparency and refractive indexof the lens. Has chaperone-like activity, preventing aggregationof various proteins under a wide range of stress conditions. Serine/threonine kinase that phosphorylatespreferentially the activated forms of a variety of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Phosphorylation of TP53/p53, a crucialtumor suppressor, inhibits TP53/p53-mediated apoptosis.Phosphorylation of ST13 regulates internalization of the chemokinereceptor.
