Q13416

Dual specificity kinase acting on both serine/threonineand tyrosine-containing substrates. Phosphorylates serine- andarginine-rich (SR) proteins of the spliceosomal complex and may bea constituent of a network of regulatory mechanisms that enable SRproteins to control RNA splicing. Phosphorylates: SRSF1, SRSF3 andPTPN1. Regulates the alternative splicing of tissue factor (F3)pre-mRNA in endothelial cells and adenovirus E1A pre-mRNA.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10480872, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19168442}. Component of the origin recognition complex (ORC) thatbinds origins of replication. DNA-binding is ATP-dependent. Thespecific DNA sequences that define origins of replication have notbeen identified yet. ORC is required to assemble the pre-replication complex necessary to initiate DNA replication. Bindshistone H3 and H4 trimethylation marks H3K9me3, H3K20me3 andH4K27me3. Stabilizes LRWD1, by protecting it from ubiquitin-mediated proteasomal degradation. Also stabilizes ORC3.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:22427655, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22935713}.
