Substrate-binding subunit (component A) of the Rabgeranylgeranyltransferase (GGTase) complex. Binds unprenylated Rabproteins and presents the substrate peptide to the catalyticcomponent B. The component A is thought to be regenerated bytransferring its prenylated Rab back to the donor membrane.
