Component of the MOZ/MORF complex which has a histone H3acetyltransferase activity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16387653,ECO:0000269|PubMed:21880731}. Monoglycylase which modifies both tubulin and non-tubulin proteins, generating side chains of glycine on the gamma-carboxyl groups of specific glutamate residues of target proteins.Monoglycylates tubulin, with a preference for alpha-tubulin towardbeta-tubulin. Has the ability to modify non-tubulin proteins suchas ANP32A, ANP32B, SET and NCL. Involved in the side-chaininitiation step of the glycylation reaction by adding a singleglycine chain to generate monoglycine side chains.
