Polyglutamase which preferentially modifies alpha-tubulin. Involved in the side-chain elongation step of thepolyglutamylation reaction rather than in the initiation step (Bysimilarity). Required for CCSAP localization to both spindle andcilia microtubules (PubMed:22493317). Generates long side-chains(By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:A4Q9F4,ECO:0000269|PubMed:22493317}. Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membranerespiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believednot to be involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in thetransfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. Theimmediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to beubiquinone. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:27626371}.
