Involved in membrane trafficking via some guaninenucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activity and its ability to bindclathrin. Acts as a GEF for Arf and Rab, by exchanging bound GDPfor free GTP. Binds phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, whichis required for GEF activity.
