Histone deubiquitinating component of the transcriptionregulatory histone acetylation (HAT) complex SAGA. Catalyzes thedeubiquitination of both histones H2A and H2B, thereby acting as acoactivator. Recruited to specific gene promoters by activatorssuch as MYC, where it is required for transcription.
