Transcription factor that specifically recognizes andbinds E-box sequences (5'-CANNTG-3'). Efficient DNA-bindingrequires dimerization with itself or with another MiT/TFE familymember such as TFEB or MITF. In association with TFEB, activatesthe expression of CD40L in T-cells, thereby playing a role in T-cell-dependent antibody responses in activated CD4(+) T-cells andthymus-dependent humoral immunity. Specifically recognizes theMUE3 box, a subset of E-boxes, present in the immunoglobulinenhancer. It also binds very well to a USF/MLTF site. Plays a role in the signal transduction pathwaysmediated by multiple Wnt genes. Participates both in canonical andnon-canonical Wnt signaling by binding to the cytoplasmic C-terminus of frizzled family members and transducing the Wnt signalto down-stream effectors. Promotes internalization and degradationof frizzled proteins upon Wnt signaling.{ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q60838, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19252499}.
