Transcriptional activator that binds to the regulatoryregion of MMP3 and thereby controls stromelysin expression. Itstimulates the activity of various transcriptional activators suchas JUN, SP1, PAX6 and ETS1, suggesting a function as acoactivator. Component of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated)complex, a complex that plays a central role in assembly ofkinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosomesegregation. The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD(nucleosome distal) complex and may be involved in incorporationof newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:16716197}.
