Part of the TFIID complex, a multimeric protein complexthat plays a central role in mediating promoter responses tovarious activators and repressors. Potentiates transcriptionalactivation by the AF-2S of the retinoic acid, vitamin D3 andthyroid hormone. Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins.They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilicmanner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to thesorting of heterogeneous cell types.
