MRC1

P22897

Involved in intracellular signal transduction mediatedby cytokines and growth factors. Upon IL-2 and GM-CSL stimulation,it plays a role in signaling leading to DNA synthesis and MYCinduction. May also play a role in T-cell development. Involved indown-regulation of receptor tyrosine kinase via multivesicularbody (MVBs) when complexed with HGS (ESCRT-0 complex). The ESCRT-0complex binds ubiquitin and acts as sorting machinery thatrecognizes ubiquitinated receptors and transfers them to furthersequential lysosomal sorting/trafficking processes. Mediates the endocytosis of glycoproteins bymacrophages. Binds both sulfated and non-sulfated polysaccharidechains. (Microbial infection) Acts as phagocytic receptor forbacteria, fungi and other pathogens. (Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for Denguevirus envelope protein E. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18266465}. (Microbial infection) Interacts with Hepatitis B virusenvelope protein. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19683778}.
