Component of the microsomal signal peptidase complexwhich removes signal peptides from nascent proteins as they aretranslocated into the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum.{ECO:0000250}. Recognizes and binds the palindromic sequence 5'-TTGGCNNNNNGCCAA-3' present in viral and cellular promoters and inthe origin of replication of adenovirus type 2.
