Catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from AdoMet totrivalent arsenicals producing methylated and dimethylatedarsenicals. It methylates arsenite to form methylarsonate, Me-AsO(3)H(2), which is reduced by methylarsonate reductase tomethylarsonite, Me-As(OH)2. Methylarsonite is also a substrate andit is converted into the much less toxic compound dimethylarsinate(cacodylate), Me(2)As(O)-OH (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. Probable E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase involved in eitherprotein trafficking or in the distribution of cellular structures.Required for spermatozoon maturation and fertility, and for theremoval of the cytoplasmic droplet of the spermatozoon. E3ubiquitin-protein ligases accept ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme in the form of a thioester and then directlytransfer it to targeted substrates.{ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q6PAV2}.
