Proteinphosphatase 1 (PP1) is essential for cell division, andparticipates in the regulation of glycogen metabolism, musclecontractility and protein synthesis. Plays a role in maintaining thefidelity of synaptic transmission in neocortical GABAergicinterneurons by generating action potential (AP) repolarization atnerve terminals, thus reducing spike-evoked calcium influx andGABA neurotransmitter release.
