Actsvia the piRNA metabolic process, which mediates the repression oftransposable elements during meiosis by forming complexes composedof piRNAs and Piwi proteins and governs the methylation andsubsequent repression of transposons. Its association with piP-bodies suggests a participation in the secondary piRNAs metabolicprocess.
