DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcriptionof DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates assubstrates. Specific peripheric component of RNA polymerase IIIwhich synthesizes small RNAs, such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs. Plays akey role in sensing and limiting infection by intracellularbacteria and DNA viruses. Acts as nuclear and cytosolic DNA sensorinvolved in innate immune response. Can sense non-self dsDNA thatserves as template for transcription into dsRNA. The non-self RNApolymerase III transcripts, such as Epstein-Barr virus-encodedRNAs (EBERs) induce type I interferon and NF- Kappa-B through theRIG-I pathway (By similarity). {ECO:0000250,ECO:0000269|PubMed:19609254, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19631370}. Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141). Acts as a chemoattractant, probably involved inthe regulation of cell migration (PubMed:28301481).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10224141, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28301481}.
