DNA-dependent RNA polymerases catalyze the transcriptionof DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates assubstrates. Common component of RNA polymerases I, II, and IIIwhich synthesize ribosomal RNA precursors, mRNA precursors andmany functional non-coding RNAs, and small RNAs, such as 5S rRNAand tRNAs, respectively. Cell adhesion molecule that mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion in a Ca(2+)-independent manner. Promotes neuriteoutgrowth in hippocampal neurons (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
