Component of the origin recognition complex (ORC) thatbinds origins of replication. DNA-binding is ATP-dependent. Thespecific DNA sequences that define origins of replication have notbeen identified yet. ORC is required to assemble the pre-replication complex necessary to initiate DNA replication.
