Q96NH3

Catalytic subunit of the NatB complex which catalyzesacetylation of the N-terminal methionine residues of peptidesbeginning with Met-Asp, Met-Glu, Met-Asn and Met-Gln. Proteinswith cell cycle functions are overrepresented in the pool of NatBsubstrates. Required for maintaining the structure and function ofactomyosin fibers and for proper cellular migration.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:18570629}. Required for high-level Shh responses in the developingneural tube. Together with CDK20, controls the structure of theprimary cilium by coordinating assembly of the ciliary membraneand axoneme, allowing GLI2 to be properly activated in response toShh signaling (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
