Polymerase that creates the 3' poly(A) tail ofmitochondrial transcripts. Can use all four nucleotides, but hashigher activity with ATP and UTP (in vitro). Plays a role inreplication-dependent histone mRNA degradation. May be involved inthe terminal uridylation of mature histone mRNAs before theirdegradation is initiated.
