GPR39

O43194

Catalyzes the addition of N-acetylglucosamine in beta 1-6 linkage to the alpha-linked mannose of biantennary N-linkedoligosaccharides. It is one of the most important enzymes involvedin the regulation of the biosynthesis of glycoproteinoligosaccharides. Zn(2+) acts as an agonist. This receptor mediates itsaction by association with G proteins that activate aphosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Its effectis mediated mainly through G(q)-alpha and G(12)/G(13) proteins.Involved in regulation of body weight, gastrointestinal mobility, hormone secretion and cell death (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
