Transcriptional regulator which directly modulates PDPK1expression, thus promoting survival of pancreatic beta-cells. Alsoregulates expression of NDFIP1, BNIP3, and CCNG1.{ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P97368}. Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141).
