Modulates the transcription repressor activity of DAXXby recruiting it to the nucleolus (PubMed:11948183). As part ofthe NSL complex it may be involved in acetylation of nucleosomalhistone H4 on several lysine residues (PubMed:20018852). Putativeregulatory component of the chromatin remodeling INO80 complexwhich is involved in transcriptional regulation, DNA replicationand probably DNA repair. May also be an inhibitor of TERTtelomerase activity (PubMed:15044100). Binds to G-quadruplexstructures in mRNA (PubMed:16571602). Splicing factor specifically required for neural celldifferentiation. Required to promote the inclusion of neural-specific exon 10 in nPTB/PTBP2, leading to increased expression ofneural-specific nPTB/PTBP2.
