MCM3

P25205

CARS

P49589

Acts as component of the MCM2-7 complex (MCM complex)which is the putative replicative helicase essential for 'once percell cycle' DNA replication initiation and elongation ineukaryotic cells. The active ATPase sites in the MCM2-7 ring areformed through the interaction surfaces of two neighboringsubunits such that a critical structure of a conserved argininefinger motif is provided in trans relative to the ATP-binding siteof the Walker A box of the adjacent subunit. The six ATPase activesites, however, are likely to contribute differentially to thecomplex helicase activity. Required for DNA replication and cellproliferation.
