RPL13P5

Acyltransferase which mediates the conversion oflysophosphatidylcholine (1-acyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine orLPC) into phosphatidylcholine (1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine or PC) (LPCAT activity). Catalyzes also theconversion of lysophosphatidylserine (1-acyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine or LPS) into phosphatidylserine (1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine or PS) (LPSAT activity). Has also weaklysophosphatidylethanolamine acyltransferase activity (LPEATactivity). Favors polyunsaturated fatty acyl-CoAs as acyl donorscompared to saturated fatty acyl-CoAs. Seems to be the majorenzyme contributing to LPCAT activity in the liver.Lysophospholipid acyltransferases (LPLATs) catalyze thereacylation step of the phospholipid remodeling pathway also knownas the Lands cycle. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18195019,ECO:0000269|PubMed:18772128}. Lectin that binds to various sugars: galactose > mannose= fucose > N-acetylglucosamine > N-acetylgalactosamine(PubMed:10224141). Acts as a chemoattractant, probably involved inthe regulation of cell migration (PubMed:28301481).{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10224141, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28301481}.
