Transcription factor binding AP-1 sites.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:9989505}. Has 3'-5' poly(A) exoribonuclease activity for syntheticpoly(A) RNA substrate. Its function seems to be partiallyredundant with that of CNOT7. Catalytic component of the CCR4-NOTcomplex which is linked to various cellular processes includingbulk mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translationalrepression during translational initiation and generaltranscription regulation. During miRNA-mediated repression thecomplex seems also to act as translational repressor duringtranslational initiation. Additional complex functions may be aconsequence of its influence on mRNA expression.
