FusionProtFeatures for IPO7_TMEM41B |
Main function of each fusion partner protein. (from UniProt) |
Hgene | Tgene |
IPO7 | TMEM41B |
Functions in nuclear protein import, either by acting asautonomous nuclear transport receptor or as an adapter-likeprotein in association with the importin-beta subunit KPNB1.Acting autonomously, is thought to serve itself as receptor fornuclear localization signals (NLS) and to promote translocation ofimport substrates through the nuclear pore complex (NPC) by anenergy requiring, Ran-dependent mechanism. At the nucleoplasmicside of the NPC, Ran binds to importin, the importin/substratecomplex dissociates and importin is re-exported from the nucleusto the cytoplasm where GTP hydrolysis releases Ran. Thedirectionality of nuclear import is thought to be conferred by anasymmetric distribution of the GTP- and GDP-bound forms of Ranbetween the cytoplasm and nucleus. Mediates autonomously thenuclear import of ribosomal proteins RPL23A, RPS7 and RPL5. Bindsto a beta-like import receptor binding (BIB) domain of RPL23A. Inassociation with KPNB1 mediates the nuclear import of H1 histoneand the Ran-binding site of IPO7 is not required but synergizeswith that of KPNB1 in importin/substrate complex dissociation. Invitro, mediates nuclear import of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 histones.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:10228156, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9687515}. (Microbial infection) Mediates the nuclear import ofHIV-1 reverse transcription complex (RTC) integrase. Binds andmediates the nuclear import of HIV-1 Rev.{ECO:0000269|PubMed:12853482, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16704975}. | Required for normal motor neuron development.{ECO:0000250}. |
Retention analysis result of each fusion partner protein across 39 protein features of UniProt such as six molecule processing features, 13 region features, four site features, six amino acid modification features, two natural variation features, five experimental info features, and 3 secondary structure features. Here, because of limited space for viewing, we only show the protein feature retention information belong to the 13 regional features. All retention annotation result can be downloaded at . * Minus value of BPloci means that the break pointn is located before the CDS. |
