Part of intraflagellar transport (IFT) particlesinvolved in ciliary process assembly. May play a role in thetrafficking of ciliary membrane proteins from the Golgi complex tothe cilium. Also involved in autophagy since it is required fortrafficking of ATG16L and the expansion of the autophagiccompartment. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16775004}. Vitronectin is a cell adhesion and spreading factorfound in serum and tissues. Vitronectin interact withglycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. Is recognized by certainmembers of the integrin family and serves as a cell-to-substrateadhesion molecule. Inhibitor of the membrane-damaging effect ofthe terminal cytolytic complement pathway. Somatomedin-B is a growth hormone-dependent serum factorwith protease-inhibiting activity.
